Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team. You will perform repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, systems and components. The role includes safety checks, reading schematics, and using CMMS for work orders.

We offer on-the-job training, a Monday–Friday schedule with possible overtime, and a culture that values teamwork and growth. The position requires a HS diploma or GED and relevant maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a HS diploma or GED.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Experience with maintenance equipment in manufacturing is a plus.
• Able to read and understand maintenance literature in English.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery and related systems (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic).
• Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals, and engineering specs.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems via observations and testing instruments.
• Perform boiler chemical/test and wastewater pretreatment adjustments as needed.
• Carry out daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and repairs as required.
• Record meter readings and take corrective actions.
• Inspect and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts.
• Use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for tasks.
