Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team. The role involves repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, with a standard Monday–Friday schedule and periodic overtime.

On-the-job training is provided. Responsibilities include using hand and power tools, following blueprints and specifications, and ensuring safe operation of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must pass UniFirst’s maintenance knowledge assessment test.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement devices.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery and hydraulic systems.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals, and specs.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems using measuring/testing instruments.
• Perform boiler chemical testing and wastewater pre-treatment adjustments.
• Conduct daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and address issues.
• Record and analyze utility meter readings and take corrective actions.
• Inspect, clean, lubricate and maintain motors, belts and gears.
• Operate a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
• Take on additional duties as assigned by leadership.
