Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team. You will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment while following blueprints and safety procedures.

The role offers on-the-job training, potential for night/weekend overtime, and opportunities for growth within a large organization. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with 6 months of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Two-year technical degree in a relevant background preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record required.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery and associated systems.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals, and specs.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision measuring tools.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater testing and adjust chemistry as needed.
• Conduct daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and address repairs.
• Record meter readings and take corrective actions as needed.
• Inspect and lubricate machine parts per procedures.
