Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our maintenance team. You will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment and systems in a production environment.

Responsibilities include reading schematics, performing safety checks, and using CMMS to log work. A high school diploma or GED is required, with a two-year technical degree preferred and the ability to lift up to 80 lbs. On-site role with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Two-year technical degree in a related field preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and maintenance literature in English.
• Lockout/Tagout experience required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools and precision measurement tools.
• Ensure safe operation of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Follow blueprints, manuals, and manufacturers' instructions.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision instruments.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment testing and adjust as needed.
• Conduct routine boiler safety checks and repairs.
• Record and analyze utility meter readings and take corrective actions.
• Conduct daily/weekly location and system safety checks and perform maintenance actions.
• Inspect, clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts.
• Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for tasks.
