Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team in the Maintenance Department. You will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, systems, and components with a Monday–Friday work week and overtime as needed.

Your responsibilities include using tools, reading blueprints, performing safety checks, and recording results. A high school diploma or GED is required, with a two-year technical degree preferred and 18+ years of age.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Experience with maintenance equipment and blueprints is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement tools and testing devices.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals and specs.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision instruments.
• Perform boiler testing and safety checks; log results and adjust as needed.
• Record utility meter readings and take corrective actions.
• Inspect, clean and lubricate components per procedures.
• Operate CMMS and document maintenance work.
• Take on additional duties as assigned by leadership.
