Qualifications

• Three years of general maintenance work involving a variety of trade practices such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry and painting.
• One year of experience in upkeep of buildings, grounds, fixtures and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains and repairs refrigeration and air conditioning units and systems (coolers, freezers, etc.)
• Traces defects and tests to determine repairs needed; replaces compressors, condensers, thermostats and drive assemblies
• Performs electrical repairs on wiring, controls, fixtures and switches; rearranges outlets and switches to installed systems
• Locates worn or damaged wiring/fixtures and replaces or insulates as needed
• Uses hand and power tools to remove, replace, splice and insulate parts
• Plans layouts from drawings/blueprints; selects lumber and materials; installs structural items
• Paints interior and exterior surfaces; prepares surfaces and applies coats; checks finish quality
• Performs general maintenance and repair of brick, block, stone structures; may repair walls/partitions
• Operates and maintains shop tools; locates parts and measures materials
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
