Job summary

NAVY EXCHANGE SERVICE COMMAND (NEXCOM) is seeking a versatile maintenance worker to perform trades across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting in our facilities in Norfolk, VA.

The role involves reading drawings, following blueprints, and completing repairs safely while adhering to applicable rules and regulations. A minimum of three years of general maintenance experience is expected, with preferred trade certifications enhancing qualification for the position.

Qualifications

• Three years of general maintenance work across multiple trades (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, painting).
• One year of general experience illustrating upkeep of buildings, grounds, fixtures and equipment.
• Standing, bending, climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds as part of daily duties.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance tasks in at least three trades for buildings and equipment.
• Plan and lay out work from drawings, sketches and blueprints.
• Perform routine repairs and refer complex issues to supervisor.
