Job summary

YES Communities in Charleston, SC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep the community grounds safe, organized, well-maintained, and stocked. You will interact with residents and ensure timely service requests and inspections, while supporting the upkeep of assets and common areas.

This on-site position requires teamwork, reliability, and adherence to OSHA standards. A valid driver’s license is preferred; HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and pool operation experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• OSHA certifications or trainings are a plus.
• A valid in-state driver’s license is required.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Proficiency with industry software and tablets is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintain rental inventory through preventive maintenance, work-orders, and home refurbishments.
• Keep the community grounds, common areas, and vacant lots clean and free of debris.
• Complete all work in a timely manner, maintaining safety standards.
• Respond to after-hour emergency calls according to on-call schedule.
• Read water meters, identify leaks and resolve issues within the community.
• Organize maintenance facilities, tools, and equipment.
• Aid in new home delivery and setup and report warranty work to management.
• Deliver resident notices as requested by management.
• Participate in team and safety meetings.
• Uphold OSHA standards and PPE requirements.
• Maintain safe winter road conditions when applicable.
• Operate and maintain company vehicles per safety rules.
