Job summary

UMH Properties, Inc. is seeking a full-time Maintenance staff member for Candlewick Court Community in Michigan. The role focuses on community groundskeeping, repairs to homes and lots, and safe operation of power tools and heavy equipment.

The position requires a valid driver’s license, experience in home repairs and plumbing, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, with overtime as needed. Benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Broad range of experience in home repairs, general plumbing, grounds maintenance and operation of heavy equipment.
• Snow plow experience.
• Ability to prioritize safety in all job duties and attend safety trainings.
• Ability to work in a team or independently to complete duties.
• Compensation negotiable based on experience and skill level.

Responsibilities

• Drive UMH vehicles throughout the community to inspect common areas.
• Record violations observed during daily inspections.
• Repair and maintain community-owned homes and lots.
• Maintain community grounds: mowing, weed eating, leaf removal, snow plowing.
• Keep work areas clean and safe, ensure clear aisles and emergency equipment access.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment are maintained and serviced regularly.
• Take daily readings from water plant where required and log results.
• Operate power and hand tools and follow lockout procedures.
