Job summary

UMH Properties, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Staff member for the Red Bud Estates Community to perform groundskeeping, repairs, and general maintenance across community homes and lots.

You will drive community vehicles, handle power tools, keep logs, follow safety procedures, and assist with home installations as needed. This full-time role requires flexibility for overtime, weekends, and seasonal weather.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Broad range of experience in home repairs, general plumbing, grounds maintenance and the operation of heavy equipment.
• Snow plow experience.
• Ability to prioritize safety in all job duties and attend periodic safety trainings assigned by UMH Properties.
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently to complete job duties.

Responsibilities

• Drive UMH vehicles through the community to inspect all common areas.
• Repair and maintain community-owned homes and lots.
• Maintain community grounds including mowing, weed eating, removing leaves and debris, plowing snow, and shoveling sidewalks.
• Keep work areas clean and safe with proper waste disposal and equipment storage.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment are maintained and serviced regularly.
• Take daily readings from water plants and inspect pump stations where required.
• Keep a log of all work performed in the community.
• Complete periodic safety trainings and follow Hazard Communication Program.
• Use and move heavy equipment and power tools as needed.
• Follow lockout procedures for energy isolation.
• Communicate professionally with coworkers and residents.
• Assist with new home installations including sewer and water connections and decking.
