Job summary

Sun Communities & Sun Outdoors is seeking Maintenance Technicians to perform routine and preventative maintenance across our communities, including home and facility repairs, grounds upkeep, and resident service. Duties include snow removal, lawn care, irrigation and plumbing/electrical tasks, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, operate tools, and work outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Required).
• 6 months maintenance experience in apartments or manufactured housing (Preferred).
• 6 months snow removal experience, including plow truck operation (Preferred).
• 6 months general maintenance knowledge and repair experience (Preferred).
• Outdoor work with temperature fluctuations; must lift 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license; ability to work independently or in a team.
• Basic computer proficiency; ability to use email and the internet.

Responsibilities

• Ensure trash/debris is picked up daily in common areas.
• Complete minor repairs to rental homes and facilities.
• Inspect irrigation systems and perform repairs as needed.
• Maintain vacant sites and remove trash and debris.
• Remove snow from community streets and parking areas; may operate a plow truck.
• Keep lawns manicured; apply weed control and trim hedges.
• Ensure streets and routes are hazard-free.
• Test water systems/meters; read, repair, and install as applicable.
• Report maintenance issues to the manager.
• Assist with supervision of service contractors.
• Maintain clubhouses and facilities; ensure curb appeal.
