Job summary

Avenue5 Residential is seeking a Maintenance Technician to address apartment and property maintenance duties, providing high-level customer service and curb appeal. You will perform repairs across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and perform preventative maintenance while maintaining safety and following the work-order system.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year in property management or related field, plus valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must maintain a valid driver’s license (or equivalent).
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Ability to use general office equipment and key track system.
• Customer service and interpersonal abilities required.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to multi-task and handle difficult situations.
• Must comply with safety requirements and confidentiality.
• Complete Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs to electrical, plumbing, appliances, flooring, carpentry, HVAC, and grounds as directed.
• Carpentry tasks including wallboard repair, countertops, finish carpentry, windows, doors, and tile.
• Proactive preventative maintenance such as siding, painting, lighting, and elevator systems.
• Maintain work order system and ensure timely completion to standard.
• Inspect grounds and common areas for safety and cleanliness.
• Assist with emergencies (snow removal, fires, floods).
• Communicate with maintenance leadership about issues.
• Promote safety and risk management per regulations.
• Participate in emergency on-call / after-hours work.
• Interact professionally with residents and foster positive relationships.
