Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is hiring an hourly Maintenance position at our Omaha, NE facility. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, repairs on production lines, and keeping equipment in peak condition.

You will work with production and quality teams to minimize downtime and ensure safe, compliant operations. Candidates should have 1+ years in industrial maintenance or a related field, with forklift/PIT operation skills and reading ability for work orders.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing environment.
• Vocational/Technical diploma or associate degree preferred.
• Team-oriented and able to work with contractors.
• Ability to operate forklift or PIT equipment.
• Read and follow work orders and translate equipment manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily preventive maintenance on production lines to minimize downtime.
• Assist production and quality teams with troubleshooting and repairs.
• Follow safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout and GMPs.
• Assist with plant facility maintenance and housekeeping to ensure a safe work environment.
