Zusammenfassung

Smithfield Foods is seeking a maintenance technician to keep key plant machinery running smoothly and safely in our Sioux Center facility. You will troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and support daily operations in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 1+ years in industrial maintenance or 4 years in a related setting; forklift/GENIE lift/PIT experience is needed. Relocation assistance available for this role.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED; 1+ years in industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing, or 4 years of related experience.
• Vocational/Technical diploma or associate degree in maintenance (preferred).
• Ability to function in a team and work with contractors.
• Ability to operate forklift, genie lift or scissor lift, or other PITs.
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Read and execute work orders, write daily reports, and translate equipment manuals.

Aufgaben

• Keep the Plant Running Smoothly: Maintain machinery and systems, perform regular checks, fix breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Maintain a Clean & Safe Facility: Upkeep HVAC, plumbing, lighting, etc., include painting and grounds maintenance.
• Ensure Safety & Compliance: Follow safety protocols, OSHA/EPA, respond quickly in emergencies.
• Collaborate and Learn: Work with maintenance and production teams; participate in training.
• Tackle Projects & New Installations: Install new equipment, lead efficiency/safety projects.
• Support the Team: Organize tools and supplies; assist with product transport as needed.
