Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to repair and maintain material handling equipment and electrical systems at an on-site facility in the United States. The role involves interpreting plans, performing preventive maintenance, and logging all activities in the CMMS.

You must be comfortable operating a forklift or similar equipment. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, plus 1+ years in an industrial maintenance setting or 4 years of related experience;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1+ years in industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing environment, or 4 years' direct experience.
• Vocational/Technical diploma or associate's degree preferred.
• Ability to work in a team and interact with all levels; forklift/scissor lift ability.
• Ability to read work orders, manuals and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain MHE, monitor and trend performance, troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance.
• Install and repair electrical and lighting issues, dock doors and dock plates.
• Perform PMs per manufacturer guidelines and schedules (oil/filter changes, calibration, lubrication).
• Log time and materials into CMMS; interpret plans and specifications.
