Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Alpine, Texas, is seeking a skilled diesel truck technician to safely operate, repair, and maintain our heavy‑duty fleet. You will inspect, diagnose, and fix issues on refuse trucks and related equipment to keep them safe and ready for daily service.

Starting pay is $23 to $32 per hour, based on experience and certifications. Shift is 10am–8pm, Monday to Friday, with overtime after 40 hours.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining heavy‑duty diesel trucks.
• Ability to diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Capable of safe operation and repair throughout the fleet.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections and diagnose issues on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and PTOs.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep trucks operational.
• Perform preventative maintenance and ensure vehicles are ready for daily use.

Job description

Safely operate, repair, rebuild and perform maintenance on Company owned or leased heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment including rolling stock to ensure its ability to operate safely

Starting Pay: $23 to $32 per hour
Based on experience, certifications and skill level.

Shift: 10am-8pm M-F. Overtime after 40hrs worked.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.
