Job summary

Balfour Beatty Communities is seeking a Maintenance Technician to help maintain the overall physical condition of our residential communities and deliver world-class service to residents.

The role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring maintenance requests are completed promptly. The position requires 4–6 years of maintenance experience and knowledge across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or carpentry, with a focus on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED graduate level.
• 4-6 years of maintenance experience.
• Demonstrated strong customer service skills.
• Advanced knowledge in electrical, plumbing, HVAC or carpentry.
• Solid troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to diagnose problems and recommend repairs.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
• Good time management skills.
• Certifications relevant to the region (e.g., EPA 608, Boiler Certification) within 9 months of hire/promotion.
• Training for Maintenance Tech I within 9 months; Training for Maintenance Tech II within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• General maintenance and orderliness of property HVAC, mechanical, electrical, utilities and lighting systems; direct other staff and contractors on projects.
• Ensure execution of company safety and environmental policies.
• Deliver high resident satisfaction through professional interactions.
• Work on a rotating on-call schedule to provide 24/7 maintenance coverage.
