Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Supervisor to ensure facility equipment functions efficiently and to identify process improvements. The role covers scheduling, budgeting and training for all maintenance staff, with occasional night/weekend overtime and on-the-job training provided.

You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, supervise staff, and ensure regulatory and safety compliance while partnering with Production to manage building and equipment budgets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment.
• Minimum 2 years of experience supervising maintenance personnel.
• Maintenance administration including planning, scheduling, budgeting, parts management and vendor management.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics; English maintenance literature.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine corrective action using manuals and catalogs.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform basic welding to repair facilities and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and related control systems.
• Perform and assign preventive maintenance on facility and production assets.
• Follow blueprints and engineering specs on a documented schedule.
• Oversee maintenance related regulatory and environmental compliance.
• Ensure safety within the maintenance department and perform Lockout/Tagout when needed.
• Manage shifts and train maintenance partners; use a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
