Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Supervisor to ensure facility equipment operates efficiently and to lead maintenance staff. You will diagnose electrical/mechanical issues, inspect and test machinery, perform basic welding, and manage preventive maintenance, safety, and regulatory compliance.

You’ll oversee shifts, coordinate with production management, and optimize the budget for building and equipment while driving staff development and training within a value‑driven culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of work experience repairing industrial equipment.
• Minimum 2 years of experience supervising maintenance personnel.
• Maintenance administration experience including budgeting and scheduling.
• Ability to read blueprints/schematics and maintenance literature in English.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine corrective action.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform basic welding and repair of facilities and equipment.
• Troubleshoot PLCs and associated control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on facility and production assets.
• Oversee safety, environmental compliance, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Manage maintenance budget, parts, labor, and vendor relationships.
• Utilize CMMS and train maintenance staff.
