Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a maintenance team, diagnose and repair facility equipment, and ensure safety and compliance. The role includes supervising shifts, coordinating preventive maintenance, and managing budgets for building and equipment.

The position requires a strong background in electrical/mechanical systems, blueprint literacy, and a proven record of supervising maintenance staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment.
• Minimum of 2 years supervising maintenance personnel.
• Maintenance administration including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and vendor management.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Must pass UniFirst’s maintenance knowledge assessment.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Knowledge of wiring, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
• Reading and understanding maintenance literature in English.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine corrective actions.
• Inspect and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform basic welding for facility repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and related control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on facility and production assets.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, and manuals on a documented schedule.
• Manage all maintenance assignments and shifts as needed.
• Ensure safety, regulatory, and environmental compliance within maintenance.
• Monitor technician training and provide required time for training.
• Utilize a CMMS to track work orders and maintenance history.
• Assist in budgeting for building, equipment, and parts/labor.
• Train and develop maintenance staff.
