Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Supervisor to ensure all facility equipment runs efficiently and to identify process improvements. You will oversee maintenance staff, manage budget and scheduling, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across shifts.

Qualifications

• High school and/or GED is preferred.
• Two-year technical degree in an appropriate background is preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record are required.
• Must pass UniFirst’s maintenance knowledge assessment to be eligible for employment.
• Knowledgeable in maintenance equipment including wiring, mechanical, and plumbing.
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising maintenance personnel.
• Maintenance administration experience: planning, scheduling, budgeting, parts & vendor mgmt.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics; English maintenance literature.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Hand & Power tools experience.
• Lockout / Tagout experience; overtime flexibility; ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine corrective actions.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform basic welding to repair facilities and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on facility and production assets.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, and manuals per schedule.
• Test boiler chemical and wastewater pretreatment systems; log results.
• Manage and assign maintenance; coordinate after-hours work.
• Oversee all shifts in the maintenance department.
• Ensure maintenance compliance with safety and environmental rules.
• Train and develop maintenance staff; manage budget for assets.
• Utilize CMMS; coordinate parts, vendors, and scheduling.
