Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to ensure facility equipment operates efficiently and to identify process improvements. The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with periodic overtime and on‑the‑job training.

You will lead maintenance staff, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and work with the Production Manager on budgets and capital projects. Blueprint reading and PLC troubleshooting are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising maintenance personnel.
• Maintenance administration experience including planning, scheduling, budgeting, negotiating, parts management, vendor management, maintenance management systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Must pass UniFirst’s maintenance knowledge assessment.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine corrective action by checking blueprints, schematics, repair manuals and parts catalogs.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
• Perform basic welding and maintenance tasks on facilities and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and control systems.
• Manage and assign preventive maintenance on facility and production assets.
• Follow engineered specifications using a documented schedule.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pretreatment testing and log results.
• Oversee maintenance staffing and shifts; ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
• Develop and manage budget with Production Manager for building, equipment, and parts/labor.
