Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Supervisor to keep facility equipment running efficiently and drive process improvements. The role oversees maintenance staff, manages budgets, and coordinates with Production on capital needs.

Responsibilities include diagnosing problems, testing machinery, and ensuring safety compliance across shifts, with on-going training and overtime as needed for busy periods.

Qualifications

• High school or GED preferred.
• 2-year technical degree preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Must pass maintenance knowledge assessment.
• Knowledgeable in maintenance equipment and systems.
• Minimum 3 years repairing industrial processing equipment.
• Minimum 2 years supervising maintenance personnel preferred.
• Maintenance administration experience including planning, scheduling, budgeting, parts/vendor management.
• Ability to read blueprints/schematics in English.
• MS Office proficiency and use of tools.
• Lockout/Tagout experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine corrective action.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform basic welding to repair facilities and equipment.
• Troubleshoot PLCs and control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on facility and production assets.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, and manuals per schedule.
• Manage boiler chemical and wastewater testing and adjust as needed.
• Oversee maintenance across shifts and assign tasks.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance within maintenance.
• Utilize CMMS and manage budget with Production Manager.
