Essex Property Trust is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to manage all maintenance operations at our Oakland community. You will supervise a team, handle the maintenance budget, and ensure the physical asset delivers a quality living environment while coordinating with staff and residents.

The role requires hands-on repair skills across HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, plus OSHA safety compliance and efficient vendor management.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in property management or related field.
• HVAC and/or CPO license preferred.
• Electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair knowledge.
• Ability to supervise 2+ associates.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance technicians and assign tasks.
• Perform repairs on property systems and equipment.
• Respond to and prioritize resident work orders.
• Implement preventive maintenance schedules.
• Inspect property for safety and compliance.
• Manage budgets and vendor contracts.
• Be available for after-hours emergencies as needed.
• Maintain maintenance records and report to management.
