Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Supervisor to ensure all facility equipment runs efficiently and to identify areas for process improvements. The role involves supervising maintenance staff, overseeing safety, and managing regulatory compliance across shifts.

The position requires experience in repairing industrial equipment, blueprints, and PLCs, with on-the-job training provided. A two-year technical degree and a high school diploma are preferred, along with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Two-year technical degree preferred.
  • Must be 21+ years old.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Maintenance knowledge assessment required.
  • Experience with maintaining industrial equipment in production settings.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine corrective action.
  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Perform basic welding to repair facilities and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and related control systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on facility and production assets.
  • Follow blueprints and engineering specs using a documented schedule.
  • Manage boiler chemical and wastewater testing and adjustments.
  • Oversee and assign maintenance tasks across all shifts.
  • Ensure safety, regulatory, and environmental compliance.
  • Train and develop maintenance staff.
  • Utilize a computerized maintenance management system.
