Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to ensure all facility equipment runs efficiently and to identify process improvements. The role oversees maintenance staff, coordinates preventive maintenance, and ensures safety and regulatory compliance.

You’ll diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, work with PLCs, read prints, manage budgets with the Production Manager, and train technicians. A two-year technical degree and 3+ years in industrial repair plus supervisory experience are

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment.
• Minimum 2 years supervising maintenance personnel.
• Maintenance administration experience including planning, scheduling, budgeting, vendor management.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; able to lift up to 80 lbs and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform basic welding to repair facilities and equipment.
• Troubleshoot PLCs and control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on facility and production assets.
• Follow schedules and manufacturer instructions with documented processes.
• Manage and assign maintenance tasks beyond standard hours.
• Oversee safety, regulatory and environmental compliance in the department.
• Monitor technician training and allocate time for required training.
• Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Collaborate with Production Manager on budget for building, equipment, and parts/labor.
• Train and develop maintenance staff.
