Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to ensure equipment functions efficiently and to identify process improvements. The role includes supervising maintenance staff, managing preventive maintenance, and overseeing safety and compliance.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years repairing industrial equipment and 2+ years supervising teams, with welding, PLC troubleshooting, blueprints, and MS Office skills. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment.
• Minimum 2 years of experience supervising maintenance personnel.
• Maintenance administration experience including planning, scheduling, budgeting, negotiating, parts management, vendor management, maintenance management systems.
• Must pass UniFirst’s maintenance knowledge assessment to be eligible for employment.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics; English maintenance literature reading required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine corrective action using blueprints and manuals.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform basic welding to repair facilities and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and control systems.
• Perform and manage preventive maintenance on facilities and production assets.
• Follow manuals and engineering specs with a documented schedule.
• Manage and assign maintenance tasks across shifts.
• Oversee safety, regulatory, and environmental compliance in maintenance.
• Train and develop maintenance staff.
