Job summary

Greystar is seeking a maintenance technician in the St. Louis, MO area to oversee and perform skilled building, grounds, and common-area maintenance.

You will diagnose issues, complete make‑readies, and uphold Greystar standards of cleanliness, safety, and appearance across the community. Responsibilities include inspecting work for quality, maintaining inventory, and assisting with budgeting and safety programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience and training.
• Experience in property management maintenance or related trade.
• Must provide own hand tools unless prohibited by State law and must be knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, user-moved aids, mechanical equipment and measuring devices.
• Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define and correct problems.
• Proficiency in customer service and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with residents, clients, team members, and other business contacts.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to represent company management in a support capacity, act as the first point of contact for internal team members and external visitors, and answer questions related to department operating policies.
• Proficiency in internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and database management programs; property management system experience preferred.
• Mathematical skills necessary to perform basic arithmetic and interpret financial/documents.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair resident service requests and routine maintenance.
• Oversee make-ready process for vacant units and prepare for leasing.
• Develop cleanliness and appearance standards for grounds and common areas.
• Inspect work of service team and contractors for quality.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies and tools within budget.
• Perform monthly preventative maintenance tasks.
• Assist Community Manager with budgeting for repairs and capital projects.
• Support safety by conducting regular safety meetings and ensuring OSHA compliance.
• Provide courteous, responsive service to residents and team members.
