Job summary

Southern Management Companies is seeking an Apartment Maintenance Service Technician (M2) in Alexandria, VA. The role involves diagnosing and repairing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, and related systems across apartment communities.

A valid driver's license and own vehicle are required; on-call rotating schedule with a 50% live-on discount offered. Seven years of maintenance experience and completion of basic maintenance classes within one year are expected.

Qualifications

• Seven years of experience in maintenance-related field(s).
• Completion of basic maintenance classes and on-the-job training within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Address, follow up and document service requests.
• Maintain an inventory of adequate supplies.
• Diagnose HVAC problems and repair or replace components as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance on fan coil and convector HVAC units.
• Complete additional preventive maintenance inspections as scheduled.
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled.
• Make repairs to grounds and drainage.
• Ensure all work and documentation comply with internal QC standards.
