Job summary

Southern Management Co. seeks an Apartment Maintenance Service Technician (M3) in Silver Spring, MD. Regular full-time role with rotating on-call duties to ensure community assets meet company standards and legal requirements.

You will diagnose problems, perform repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, ceramic/drywall, and related areas. Strong communication and accurate records are essential.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in maintenance related field(s).
• Successful completion of Basic Electric class offered at SMC internal training facility.
• Completion of all other basic maintenance classes offered internally and on-the-job training within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Address, follow up and document service requests.
• Maintain an inventory of adequate supplies.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC units and related systems.
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled.
• Make repairs to grounds and drainage.
• Ensure all work and documentation comply with internal quality control standards.
• Maintain personal tool supply as designated by SMC's Tool Checklist.
