Job summary

Southern Management Co. is seeking an Apartment Maintenance Service Technician (M3) in Bethesda, Maryland. This regular full-time role covers diagnosing and repairing electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and related systems to meet company standards and legal requirements.

The candidate will handle service requests, maintain supplies, and participate in on-call shifts while ensuring safety and quality control across the community facilities.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in maintenance-related fields.
• Completion of Basic Electric class offered at SMC internal training facility.
• Completion of all required basic maintenance classes and on-the-job training within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Address, follow up and document service requests
• Maintain an inventory of adequate supplies
• Perform preventive maintenance on fan coil and convector HVAC unit
• Complete additional preventive maintenance inspections as scheduled
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled
• Make repairs to grounds and drainage
• Ensure all work and documentation comply with internal quality control standards
• Maintain personal supply of tools as designated by SMC's Tool Checklist
• Address emergency maintenance as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor
• Contribute to community and company engagement efforts
