Brookdale is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the general operating maintenance and repair of a senior living community. You’ll supervise maintenance, housekeeping and staff, ensuring timely repairs and adherence to safety standards.

The role requires coordinating with residents and local inspectors, managing HVAC and building systems, and maintaining high quality living environments. Strong leadership and multi-tasking abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 2–3 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance, housekeeping and laundry staff (where applicable) including hiring, training, evaluating performance, resolving disciplinary issues and firing.
• Direct workers in interior and exterior upkeep; inspect completed work for conformance to standards and policies.
• Oversee scheduled maintenance on HVAC, elevator, fire and sprinkler equipment, generator, landscape, kitchen equipment, and emergency pull cord systems.
• Coordinate maintenance requests from residents for repairs to rooms, plumbing, electrical, heating and lighting.
• Oversee repairs and maintenance of buildings including vacated rooms; perform painting and carpet cleaning as needed.
• Maintain proper condition of walls, floors, doors, and woodwork in common areas; ensure safety and compliance with codes.
• Communicate with local authorities (fire marshal, inspectors) and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assess plumbing and electrical issues and determine corrective actions within legal codes; review SDS for hazardous substances as needed.
