This is a floor-forward, data-driven leadership position that requires managing CMMS discipline, contractor performance, KPI achievement, and continuous mechanical improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a maintenance team with safety as the top priority, followed by quality and production effectiveness.

  • Manage the full-scope of maintenance operations—strategy, execution, team development, and system performance.

  • Establish and continuously improve Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Programs.

  • Own and manage all Maintenance KPIs related to uptime, cost, safety, and performance.

  • Improve MTBF, eliminate chronic failures, and enhance ease-of-maintenance across all critical equipment.

  • Coordinate internal and contractor resources aligned with production schedules and project timelines.

  • Oversee all onsite contractors, ensuring safety compliance, scope of work, schedule adherence, and CMMS reporting.

  • Conduct annual contractor reviews in partnership with Purchasing and establish corrective action plans when necessary.

  • Collaborate with Operations and Engineering on CapEx execution and vendor oversight.

  • Support team development and hold team members accountable through performance reviews, development plans, and coaching.

Must-Have Experience
  • 15+ years in industrial maintenance leadership, with experience in wood products, lumber, or heavy industry preferred.

  • Proven success managing high-wear systems: dryers, pellet mills, MCCs, conveyors, hammermills, etc.

  • Strong CMMS background (Limble, Fiix, SAP PM, E-Maint) and maintenance planning expertise.

  • Leadership experience with 25+ tradespeople, planners, and external contractors.

  • Demonstrated track record of KPI ownership, RCA enforcement, and performance-based culture building.

Education & Credentials
  • Minimum: Two-year degree or equivalent coursework + 8+ years of industrial maintenance leadership.

  • Preferred: Four-year degree in Operations, Business, or Engineering.

  • Trade certification (millwright, industrial maintenance) highly valued.

  • Reliability certification (CMRP, CRL) strongly preferred.

  • OSHA 30-hour and full safety systems fluency required.

Leadership Profile
  • Hands-on, floor-present, and results-driven leadership style.

  • Strong talent developer and coach with clear expectations and performance systems.

  • Skilled cross-functional communicator and systems thinker.

  • Relentless in uptime improvement and mechanical problem-solving.

  • Visionary with experience building high-capacity programs and systems.

Compensation
