Job summary

Rivian Automotive in Normal, IL is seeking a Maintenance Group Leader to manage daily maintenance operations and supervise preventive maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs to minimize downtime. This role reports to the Maintenance Manager and requires hands-on leadership.

You will lead a diverse shop team, oversee safety, training, and the implementation of maintenance improvements, with occasional off-site travel for training and equipment buy-offs.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in a fast-paced manufacturing facility.
• Previous Maintenance Leadership experience in a manufacturing facility.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or 3–5 years of equivalent professional experience in a plant maintenance leadership position.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as governmental regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to travel off-site for training and equipment buy-offs when needed.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong communication and people management skills.
• Provide hands-on assistance and expertise to team members to complete maintenance related functions.
• Assign and track all Preventative Maintenance Activities.
• Oversee training and safety of the entire Shop team.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, welding, and robotic systems.
• Create and manage development plans for team members.
• Travel off-site for training and equipment buy-offs when needed.
