Job summary

Rivian in Normal, IL is seeking a Group Leader to motivate technicians, Team Leaders, and Team Members, driving best practices to hit production milestones. This on-site role reports to the Paint Operations Manager and requires strong supervision and people leadership.

You will oversee training and development, coordinate schedules with production managers, and lead process improvements in the paint shop, ensuring operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in high-volume manufacturing with leadership
• 3+ years in paint processes (Pretreatment/E-coat, Sealer, Prime, Basecoat, Clearcoat, Masking, Inspection or Repair)
• Engineering/Technical bachelor’s degree preferred
• Experience with MRP software (SAP) preferred
• Kaizen / continuous improvement experience
• Demonstrated project management skills
• Strong working knowledge of Google docs/sheets/slides
• Ability to stand 8-12 hours per day
• Able to lift and carry at least 25 pounds
• Work in a dusty, hot/cold environment

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of technicians, Team Leaders, and Team Members
• Train, develop, teach, and evaluate employees
• Coordinate with production managers on schedules and needs
• Fill in as needed and support pilot programs and changes
• Monitor and control capital and operating expenses
• Plan and establish paint shop team agenda and scheduling
• Identify processes and improvements with Paint Shop Manager
