Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Maintenance Group Leader in Normal, IL to manage day-to-day maintenance functions, supervise preventive maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs to minimize downtime. Reports to Maintenance Manager.

The role requires 3–5 years in manufacturing with leadership experience, a Bachelor's in Engineering, strong communication, and the ability to travel for training as needed. Competitive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or 3-5 years of equivalent professional experience in a plant maintenance leadership position.
• 3-5 years in a fast-paced manufacturing facility.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as governmental regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups.
• Ability to apply concepts of algebra and geometry.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong communication and people management skills.
• Provide hands-on assistance and expertise to team members for maintenance tasks.
• Assign and track all Preventative Maintenance Activities.
• Oversee training and safety of the Shop team.
• Support Strategic Planning for line maintenance efficiency.
• Support new equipment introduction.
• Create and manage team member development plans.
• Spare parts setup and management.
• Create and grow a workforce that reflects diversity initiatives.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, welding, and robotic systems.
• Manage in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.
• Create a preventative maintenance system to minimize production disturbances.
• Foster strong team relations and coach/mentor for teamwork.
