Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is hiring a Maintenance Assistant to perform semi-skilled tasks keeping the community, buildings, and grounds in good repair. Responsibilities include repairs, painting, grounds maintenance, and basic electrical work under directions from the Maintenance Director.

Requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least two years in a maintenance role; must lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and work flexible schedules including weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of building maintenance practices.
• Detail oriented and well organized.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Team player able to work with others.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate tools and machines used in maintenance.
• Order materials and handle phone calls as directed.
• Make repairs to building, equipment, and appliances.
• Disassemble and move furniture around the community.
• Check maintenance logs and work orders for prompt responses.
• Perform preventative maintenance as directed.
• Prepare and paint surfaces in the community.
• Maintain exterior grounds including landscaping and trash removal.
• Perform basic electrical work, such as changing light bulbs.
• Transport residents in the community vehicle as needed.
• Assist with vehicle maintenance scheduling.
• Assist maintenance director with resident safety drills.
• All other duties as assigned.
