Job summary

South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department is seeking a maintenance supervisor to manage janitorial and facilities tasks across the agency. You will oversee grounds, equipment upkeep, and supply inventories while performing minor repairs and improvements to buildings and systems.

The role requires supervisory experience, a high school diploma, and a clean driving record. Applicants with skilled trades experience in electrical, carpentry, plumbing, or HVAC are preferred.

Job description

• Performing janitorial and maintenance task according to agency guidelines and expectations.
• Maintaining the grounds.
• Maintain and monitor inventory of all cleaning and maintenance supplies.
• Perform minor repairs and upgrades on building and grounds equipment, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and perform minor carpentry/drywall work to repair or improve facilities whenever possible.
• Review maintenance schedules and ensure agency vehicles receive timely service, inspections, and necessary repairs according to department guidelines.
• Train and oversee consumers with a vocational objective focused on janitorial and maintenance careers.
• Initiate and oversee preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment, facilities, and vehicles remain in optimal working conditions.
• Follow safety practices and actively participate as a member of the area's safety committee o ensure compliance of all safety regulations in the workplace.
