The NCDAC / Support Services / Division of Engineering, Construction, and Maintenance (DECM) is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician III (Region Maintenance Technician) to join the Mountain Regional Maintenance Team. This role is based at Western Correctional Center for Women (WCCW) in Black Mountain, NC / Buncombe County, focusing on general preventative maintenance and Force Account system replacements.
The ideal candidate will have journeyman-level experience in construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of systems like concrete, carpentry, masonry, etc., work independently, interpret blueprints, and perform assigned duties.
This role requires daily commuting to WCCW in Black Mountain, NC, with additional support to other regional institutions. It is a full-time position (40 hours/week) with benefits, working Monday – Friday, with possible weekend work and overnight travel.

Effective January 1, 2025, salary ranges will be $39,671.00 - $69,426.00, following approved increases.
High school diploma or GED, plus two years of experience in relevant trades, or an equivalent education/experience combination. Certifications such as EPA Type I, II, III, or Universal technician may be required.
