To be eligible for a sign-on bonus, the candidate must not have worked as a probationary, permanent, or time-limited employee in the last 12 months as an employee subject to the State Human Resources Act.
This position is located at Greene Correctional Institution. Applicants should be skilled in maintenance and repair of facilities involving multiple, complex, or highly skilled trade specialties. Employees function at the journey level in Mechanical Maintenance, Electrical, and Plumbing. They perform a variety of tasks at or near the journey level in other trade areas, with at least one being significantly different from their primary trade. Employees work independently but refer technical or unusual problems to a supervisor. Work includes supervising offender workers engaged in maintenance tasks. Work is evaluated based on compliance with work orders and equipment maintenance. Employees may perform other duties as required.

This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) with State Benefits. Applicants must pass a background check. As of January 1, 2025, salary range will be $39,671-$69,426, following new adjustments approved by the State HR Commission. Current state employees are encouraged to apply; salary may be recalculated based on experience and internal equity.
The following are REQUIRED to qualify:
High school diploma or GED plus two years of experience in the relevant trades, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. May require EPA certification as a Type I, II, III, or Universal technician.
