The primary purpose of this position is to resolve facility maintenance issues in state-owned buildings within the Division of Highways and Division of Motor Vehicles managed by the Facilities Management Division. The employee works under the direction of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor. Must have excellent knowledge of building codes and perform at the journey level in at least two trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, masonry, or plastering). The position may also require work at other facilities as directed, including unscheduled overtime during emergencies, after-hours call-backs, and presence during inclement weather.
Applicants must demonstrate:
High school diploma or GED plus two years of experience in the trade areas, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. See oshr.nc.gov/experience-guide for details.
May require EPA certification as a Type I, II, III, or Universal technician.
