Job summary

Wayne Farms in North Carolina is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain the grounds and exterior around the facility, ensuring a neat, safe campus. Under minimal supervision, perform mowing, planting, pruning and general landscaping while complying with company safety policies.

This role requires ability to work nights, weekends and extended shifts, lift up to 60 lbs, and wear PPE as required. Prior landscaping experience is a plus; HS diploma preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

• Under minimal supervision, ensure grounds/yard surrounding facility are well maintained
• Perform landscaping duties such as mowing, planting, weeding, fertilizing, pruning etc to ensure plants, shrubs and trees remain healthy
• Perform minor facility exterior maintenance such as sweeping/clearing sidewalks, painting, lightbulb replacement and/ or other minor structural repairs etc.
• Assist others when requested in the repair and maintenance of grounds and facility
• Work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations
• Other duties as assigned

Education And Certifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required

Experience And Skills

• Previous experience in landscaping a plus
• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours
• Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character

Safety Requirements

• Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required
