Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms in Mocksville, NC is seeking a groundskeeper to maintain the exterior of our facility. Under minimal supervision, you will perform landscaping tasks to keep lawns, shrubs and trees healthy and visually appealing while complying with company policies.

Responsibilities include mowing, planting, weeding, fertilizing, pruning, exterior cleaning, minor repairs, and supporting the team as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in landscaping is preferred.
• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivated.
• Willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must follow departmental and company safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Mow, plant, weed, fertilize and prune to keep plants healthy.
• Perform exterior maintenance such as cleaning sidewalks and minor repairs.
• Assist others with grounds and facility upkeep as needed.
• Adhere to all company policies and regulations.

Primary Function

Primarily responsible for the cultivation and care of grounds/yard surrounding facility. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

Responsibilities and Tasks

• Under minimal supervision, ensure grounds/yard surrounding facility are well maintained
• Perform landscaping duties such as mowing, planting, weeding, fertilizing, pruning etc to ensure plants, shrubs and trees remain healthy
• Perform minor facility exterior maintenance such as sweeping/clearing sidewalks, painting, lightbulb replacement and/ or other minor structural repairs etc.
• Assist others when requested in the repair and maintenance of grounds and facility
• Work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Certifications

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required

Experience and Skills

• Previous experience in landscaping a plus
• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours
• Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character

Safety Requirements

• Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in hot, wet and/or cold environment
• Ability to stand up to 8 hours
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
