Job summary

Wayne Farms is a provider of poultry products and operates a grounds maintenance role at its Tyler, Texas location. The position covers outdoor care of the facility grounds including mowing, planting, weeding, pruning, and basic exterior upkeep while following safety and animal welfare guidelines.

The role requires the ability to work unsupervised, tolerate extended hours and weekend shifts, and to maintain a strong work ethic. Benefits are available from day one.

Qualifications

• Experience in landscaping preferred.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.

Responsibilities

• Under minimal supervision, ensure grounds/yard surrounding facility are well maintained
• Perform landscaping duties such as mowing, planting, weeding, fertilizing, pruning etc to ensure plants, shrubs and trees remain healthy
• Perform minor facility exterior maintenance such as sweeping/clearing sidewalks, painting, lightbulb replacement and/ or other minor structural repairs etc.
• Assist others when requested in the repair and maintenance of grounds and facility
• Work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations
• Other duties as assigned

SHIFT HOURS: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM MONDAY - FRIDAY

SHIFT PAY: $18.85

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Primarily responsible for the cultivation and care of grounds/yard surrounding facility. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

• Under minimal supervision, ensure grounds/yard surrounding facility are well maintained
• Perform landscaping duties such as mowing, planting, weeding, fertilizing, pruning etc to ensure plants, shrubs and trees remain healthy
• Perform minor facility exterior maintenance such as sweeping/clearing sidewalks, painting, lightbulb replacement and/ or other minor structural repairs etc.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Previous experience in landscaping a plus
• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours
• Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

• Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work in hot, wet and/or cold environment
• Ability to stand up to 8 hours
