Job summary

Regions Bank is seeking a Mainframe Operator to ensure availability, reliability, and performance of enterprise and mainframe environments in a 24x7 banking setting. You will perform routine operations, monitor alerts, and respond to incidents to keep systems up and running.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with preference for an associate or bachelor’s degree and prior mainframe/ ops experience. Onsite work at the Birmingham, AL location is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor's degree preferred in a related field.
• Experience in technology operations including mainframe is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and operates mainframe and enterprise systems, including console and batch processing.
• Acts as first responder to mainframe and infrastructure alerts using monitoring dashboards.
• Executes and monitors mainframe and distributed batch jobs and distributes outputs.
• Maintains mainframe production documentation and operational records.
• Performs first-level troubleshooting and escalates incidents per procedures.
• Supports outage management activities including bridges and incident timelines.
• Ensures compliance with risk management, cybersecurity practices, and change control processes.
• Works under defined procedures and supervision.
