Job summary

L.E. Jones Company is seeking a production supervisor to facilitate, lead, direct, and train employees in producing high-quality products that meet customer specifications timely and efficiently.

The role involves coordinating schedules, supervising a bargaining unit workforce, and maintaining productive relations. The position emphasizes adherence to safety policies, labor contracts, and continuous improvement methods such as 5s, CIL, and TPM.

Qualifications

• High School education required.
• Good organizational skills.
• Able to get along with people and gain their cooperation.
• Basic knowledge of machining practices.

Responsibilities

• Execute production schedules.
• Respond to contingencies.
• Determine manpower levels (with the help of scheduling).
• Provide training and instruction.
• Assign work to Bargaining Unit employees.
• Schedule overtime when needed.
• Monitor efficiency and correct if necessary.
• Assist in developing new methods.
• Improve productivity.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives (e.g. 5s, CIL, TPM).
• Implement company quality policies (SPC) (TS 16949 programs).
• Correct quality problems.
• Understand and Administer labor contract.
• Understand and Administer company policies (safety, behavioral, work rules).
• Keep a productive working atmosphere and relationship.
• Serve as primary contact to bargaining unit workforce.
• Manage and record first aid and medical emergencies.
• Perform lock-up and shut-down procedures at end of week.
• Supervise monthly and year-end inventory.
• Handle all incoming phone calls after 4:30 p.m.
• Direct 2nd shift maintenance as needed.
