L.E. Jones Co. is seeking a Machine Shop Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift in Menominee, MI. The role leads and trains shop employees to produce high-quality parts that meet customer specifications in a timely, efficient manner.

The supervisor will respond to contingencies, assign tasks, schedule overtime, and monitor productivity while enforcing company policies and labor contracts. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School Education and basic knowledge of machining practices.
• Good organizational skills and ability to gain cooperation.
• Able to work with people in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Respond to contingencies
• Determine manpower levels (with the help of scheduling)
• Provide training and instruction
• Assign work to Bargaining Unit employees
• Schedule overtime when needed
• Monitor efficiency and correct if necessary
• Improve productivity
• Implement company quality policies (SPC) (TS 16949 programs)
• Understand and Administer labor contract
• Understand and Administer company policies (safety, behavioral, work rules)
• Keep a productive working atmosphere and relationship
• Serve as primary contact to bargaining unit workforce
• Manage and record first aid and medical emergencies
• Perform lock-up and shut-down procedures at end of week
• Supervise monthly and year-end inventory
• Handle all incoming phone calls after 4:30 p.m.
