Job summary

Oldcastle APG in Rockwood, TN is seeking an Equipment and Machine Operator to operate industrial machinery in accordance with safety policies, producing high-quality masonry products.

You will read job specifications, adjust equipment, monitor operation, perform routine maintenance, support other operators, and maintain a clean, organized work area to meet deadlines and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or 1 month related experience.
• Basic understanding of electronics and programmable controllers.
• Knowledge of the basics of hydraulics, electricity and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Must encompass computer literacy as well as strong mechanical ability.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments.
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule or templates.
• Observes machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction.
• Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance assuring product meets quality requirements.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Assist other operators to set up machines and any other necessary tasks to adhere to deadlines and completion of product.
• Make sure all housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in assigned area.
