Job summary

Wieland is seeking a Machine Operator I in Granite City, IL. The role involves setting up and operating a production machine, feeding materials, inspecting output for quality, and maintaining a clean, safe on-site workspace. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of machine operation experience, OSHA safety awareness, PPE usage, and strong teamwork with high attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of machine operation experience in an industrial setting.
• Working knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines.
• Ability to wear and use PPE as required (hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, ear protection, protective footwear).
• Self-motivated with mechanical ability and problem-solving skills.
• Able to perform physical tasks and lift up to 50 pounds when needed.
• Excellent communication and multi-tasking abilities.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Set up machines to start a production cycle and perform start-up inspections.
• Operate one stationary machine and feed raw material to equipment.
• Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues to prevent downtime.
• Operate forklift safely and within established procedures.
• Inspect finished products for quality and safety compliance.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow safety rules.
• Flex to support other departments as needed.
