Job summary

Wieland North America, Inc. in Granite City, IL is hiring a Mobile Equipment Operator II to safely operate sit-down forklifts and other material handling equipment in a fast-paced on-site warehouse.

The role requires teamwork, precision, and adherence to safety, with an hourly pay range of $20–$22 and a Monday–Friday schedule. You will support shipping, loading, inventory accuracy, and general labor tasks across multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Forklift operation with safety regulations and PPE usage.
• Adherence to health and safety rules and proper PPE usage.
• Ability to read and understand packaging/shipping documents.
• Reliability in attendance and punctuality.
• Good judgment and proactive questioning when needed.
• Attention to detail to ensure safety and accuracy.
• Safety-first mindset across all tasks.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with skid steer operations including bucket and ram.

Responsibilities

• Safely maneuver motorized material handling equipment per safety regs.
• Maintain and report service needs for equipment.
• Position equipment properly before start/stop or loading.
• Select product accurately with high precision.
• Follow directions from department leaders and collaborate across departments.
• Place materials using color code system.
• Move and load product from staging/storage to trailers.
• Ensure material matches invoice in weight, lot, and quantity.
• Follow load placement procedures for safe shipping.
• Package recycled products per carrier specs.
• Inspect work area to keep it clean and safe.
• Follow safety procedures and report issues to supervisor/HR.
• Follow daily procedures and training protocols.
• Attend meetings and refresher courses for safe operation.
• Flex with general labor tasks as needed.
• Participate in warehouse housekeeping and cross-department support.
